Poplar Short Plate Unsprung Door Knob - Antique Brass

Our Poplar design is our take on the classic Victorian beehive knob.

We’ve streamlined things, giving it a flatter knob and, in this case, a low-profile, short backplate. It’ll work well in period properties with a contemporary edge, or by bringing a traditional touch to new builds.

The knob is unsprung, which means you can use it with an existing sprung latch. To make sure it stays easy to turn, we'd recommend using a lightly sprung latch.

There’s also no danger of it coming away in your hand – we’ve engineered the backplate and knob to be inseparable.

Antique brass is what’s called a ‘living’ finish because it reacts to the air and moisture around it, causing it to darken (especially in the areas you touch most). We’ve given it a head start by ageing it by hand, so it has that antique look right out the box.
